Only ashes remained

Einar Steinberg stands in front of closed doors. It seems as if his life with his wife Louise has been wiped out. Full of fear, the old man leaves his hometown in search of his former life.

During the journey that eventually leads him to a burned-down women's shelter in Hamburg, he becomes increasingly entangled in the difficult circumstances of his own family.

In addition to Einar's distant daughters, there is also a strange gray cat that suddenly refuses to leave his side.

While his wife remains missing, the love story between Einar and Louise unfolds and increasingly comes into conflict with the present.
