Dear friends reading Marinina in English! This book is 25 years old, and hardly anyone will pay for it today, in 2021. But it seems to me that it is a bit relevant. The secrets of the book business have been revealed a bit. The literary language is not perfect. But the plot is on top, although there are many inconsistencies. I read it with interest (20 years ago).
Не хватает кусков. Взяла для практике в английском, дохожу до абзаца «He was well-to-do. Without a doubt. A two-story brick seemed to be a nice guy, maybe they should become closer friends and neighbours» – в первой главе, прямо вообще в начале же – и не понимаю вообще. Двухэтажный кирпичный – наверное должен быть «дом», но в общем это двухэтажное казалось хорошим парнем. Потом сразу «могли бы подружиться» – эээ, с домом? Раз уж он все равно парень неплохой.
Иду в оригинал – ну да. Куска нет. Чот страницы наверное. Предполагаю, что не единственного. ну как так?
