Chapter One

2023. Day one

Colonel-General Surovikin, the Commander of the front, Lieutenant-General Gerasimov, his chief of Staff, and Major-General Akhmat Apty Alaudinov (50), the commander of the special forces, are sitting in the office.

SURAVIKIN

To support local law enforcement agencies in the fight against a terrorist group that has infiltrated across the border and launched a series of attacks on civilians. Major General Alaudinov, I am ordering your unit to go to the Belogorovka area, which has recently been occupied by the enemy, and fight to dislodge it from this square. Strengthen and organize defensive positions. And wait for the arrival of our main troops.

The commanders scatter to their units to carry out the order. Alaudinov looks around the camp, where live activity begins. Military personnel quickly collect personal belongings, check weapons and ammunition. Teams work like a well-established mechanism, everyone knows their duty and does not hesitate in its execution.

The fighters run to their cars. With a sigh of determination, General Alaudinov zips up his holster and strides to the first car, getting into the front seat. The car starts moving.

October 5, 1973. Russia, Stavropol Territory, Predgorny district, Gorny settlement.

A NURSE smiles, holding a NEWBORN BABY BOY wrapped in a soft blanket. At her side stands the newborn's MOTHER, looking tired but happy. Their attention is drawn to the entrance, where the FATHER enters the parents' ward in the uniform of an officer of the Soviet army. He has a bouquet of flowers in his hands.

ALAUDINOV'S FATHER

(smiling, handing flowers to the nurse)

Please, this is a sign of my endless gratitude.

His mother turns to him with a warm look. The nurse, gratefully accepting the flowers, nods to him as a sign of respect and hands the baby to the Father. The father gently takes the child in his arms, carefully supporting his head.

THE SECOND NURSE

(curiously, looking at the boy)

ALAUDINOV'S MOTHER

(addressing her Father, with love)

Tell them, dear, you chose the name.

ALAUDINOV'S FATHER

(looks at the baby, confidently)

We'll call him Apti. Apty Aronovich Alaudinov.

THE FIRST NURSE

Apti is a name that stands for strength, rich inner peace, creativity and kindness.

The mother nods, looking at her son. The father gently rocks the boy, full of hopes and dreams for the future.

THE END OF THE MEMORY

In the silence of the night, the engines of the special forces transport are barely audible, disturbing the shaky peace before the storm. The fighters, polished by hundreds of hours of training, are sitting in their cars, checking their gear. The column stops.

General Alaudinov gets out of the car and looks at the stone face, which is reflected in the headlights.

ALAUDINOV

Turn off the headlights, unmask the positions.

The headlights of the cars immediately go out, and the general directs his gaze towards the village of Belogorodki in the pitch darkness. Three commanders stealthily approach him.

ALAUDINOV

We are entering the area of operation. Remember, our task is to clear the village and secure this sector of the front. As well as evacuate the civilian population.

The commanders nod, and silence returns for a moment before being broken by the scout's voice over the radio.

THE SCOUT (Behind the Scenes)

General, the enemy outnumbers us three times.

Alaudinov answers the scout without blinking.

Stop panicking, Captain… Our fighters are the elite. We are well prepared and armed. We will carry out this operation flawlessly, as always. Our trump card is surprise. And our motto is: surprise, 50% victory. To the cars.

The fighters quietly jump out of the shaded couches to the ground and stand at the side in rows.

Brothers, we went through hell to become who we are. Our superiority lies in ourselves. Follow me and we will win! Wear night vision goggles. spread out by position. And don't breathe…

The fighters nod in silence in agreement and respect, and turn to the left, keeping their distance.

ALAUDINOV

Forward. On the march…

And the fighters in a chain, with machine guns ready, quietly stealthily, without flashlights, go in the direction of the enemy's positions. The night march ends at the borders of the village of Belogorodki. The Akhmat special forces soldiers are silently dispersing to their positions, preparing for an attack.

The operation begins under cover of darkness. The hearts of the fighters are beating loudly, but their movements are precise and measured. The scouts suddenly cut out the guards from the darkness.

Squads enter the village stealthily in formation and maneuver between buildings, keep in formation and eliminate the enemy, minimizing risks. The village is shrouded in pitch darkness and only the muffled clicks of machine gun silencers can be heard. General Alaudinov is also walking among the fighters with a machine gun.

The light is dazzlingly reflected from the shiny balloons and balloons decorating the hall. In the center of the stage, the SCHOOL PRINCIPAL, a handsome man in a formal suit, holds a stack of certificates in his hands. Apti leaves the stage and sits down in her seat. Another graduate enters the scene. Gets an atestate. Apti opens the certificate and reads the contents with a smile.

And now that all the matriculation certificates have been awarded, we ask the gentlemen to remove the folding chairs and our sound engineer to announce the beginning of dancing.

Everyone gets up, and the guys move the folding chairs to the walls, freeing up the room for dancing.

A slow dance sounds and dancing couples appear in the middle. A GIRL in a white dress, with sparkling eyes, approaches Apti Alaudinov.
