Yana LEO

On a cold autumn day, pregnant Nadya and her husband Ilya stand by a street kiosk with their last nine coins. An ordinary purchase suddenly turns into a test: awkwardness, stubbornness, and fear of the future rise to the surface.

Sometimes, a small sum can reveal more about a family than years of conversation.

“Nine Coins” is the first psychological short story by Yana LEO from the series Stories of Nadya and Ilya. It tells of a moment when love collides with reality, and silence grows louder than any words. It is a story about a young family for whom a trivial amount of money becomes a turning point of inner growth. Based on real events.
